The new product innovation FLAMEXGREEN combines sustainability & fire protection

    24. Mär 2022

    Responsibility for sustainability & recycling

Due to national and international fire protection standards, flame retardant textiles are used especially for public and semi-public building interiors. As a sustainable alternative to this, Carl Weiske offers FLAMEXGREEN, a flame retardant staple fiber yarn made of at least 50% recycled, post-consumer bottles.

Upcycling PET bottles can save petroleum, energy and CO2 by eliminating the use of new polyester granulate production. FLAMEXGREEN's GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certification guarantees traceability and compliance with social and environmental practices throughout the recycling product chain - from bottle recycling to finished yarn. FLAMEXGREEN is also certified according to OEKOTEX Standard 100, Class 1.

With organophosphorus compounds firmly anchored in the fiber, inherent fire protection continues even with frequent use or aging and meets the requirements of national and international fire safety standards.
